Recognizing Women Who Are Shaping Healthcare IT

Since 2020, ELLKAY's Women in Health IT program has recognized women leaders across healthcare technology who are advancing interoperability, data infrastructure, and digital health innovation. These are the engineers, executives, architects, and strategists building the systems that healthcare depends on. We celebrate their work, amplify their voices, and invite the community to nominate the next generation of honorees.

"When women lead boldly, we make it easier for the next generation to step forward. Take up space. Own your expertise. And remember that representation isn’t just symbolic—it’s catalytic."

How Women in Health IT Works

Women in Health IT is more than a recognition list. It is a growing community of leaders, an ongoing conversation about inclusion in healthcare technology, and a platform that amplifies the voices the industry needs to hear.

Recognition

Each honoree is featured in a published editorial profile — a candid conversation about their career path, their take on interoperability and innovation, and the work they think matters most right now.

Community

Honorees join a network of women shaping healthcare IT, connecting across organizations, disciplines, and career stages.

Inspiration

Published profiles are freely available to anyone. The goal is simple: give the next generation of women considering health IT real examples of the paths and possibilities that exist in this field.

and nominations.

Women in Health IT is a recognition and community program launched by ELLKAY in 2020. It celebrates women leaders across healthcare technology — from engineers and architects to executives and clinicians — by publishing editorial profiles that share their stories, perspectives, and career paths.

Any woman working in healthcare IT or at the intersection of healthcare and technology is eligible. Nominees may be from any organization — health systems, laboratories, payers, digital health companies, health IT vendors, or other healthcare-related fields.

Fill out the nomination form above. Tell us who you're nominating, what they do, and why their work stands out. Nominations are reviewed on a rolling basis, and selected honorees are contacted directly to participate in an editorial interview.

No. The program is free for honorees and nominators. There is no purchase requirement, no vendor relationship required, and no fee to be recognized. ELLKAY’s only ask of honorees is a willingness to share their story in an editorial interview published on the ELLKAY website.
